जबकि हिंदी फिल्म उद्योग ने 2023 को ऐतिहासिक रूप से अपना सबसे बड़ा साल दर्ज किया है, युवा बॉलीवुड स्टार आयुष्मान खुराना 100 करोड़ हिट देने वाले सितारों की सूची में हैं! रणबीर कपूर और रणवीर सिंह के साथ आयुष्मान भी केवल तीन युवा सितारों में शामिल  हैं जिन्होंने 100 करोड़ से अधिक सफलता की कहानियाँ दर्ज की हैं!

Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandanna bring Mission Majnu to Film Companion Front Row. The two actors spoke to Anupama Chopra about making the spy film, comparisons with Raazi and their first impressions of each other. They also reveal which Friday they believe entirely changed their lives and all the scoop from the sets of Pushpa 2: The Rule.

When asked about the similarities being drawn between Mission Majnu and the 2018 film Raazi, Sidharth says, “I think it’s never a bad thing when people are trying to use a reference point for a film, especially comparing it to a good film. Yes, the elements on the outer periphery of seeing a trailer might look similar, it is in the same decade, similar elements. But, I think the experience is completely different. It’s only fair to speak to people after 20th Jan. Once they see the film, the arcs...as I said, we’re only trying to give the elements which you need to decide to click, in today’s day and age, or to get engaged.”
Talking about the evolving approach towards the craft of acting, Sidharth says, “You can’t keep waiting as well for that magic to happen. It only happens when you keep doing that work again & again. You can’t design it either, that’s why it’s a very tricky thing. No one can tell you that he or she has cracked that formula. But I think we have to just keep working, the show must go on. And we have to also polish ourselves, it’s something that always grows and evolves over the years, it’s a creative field. I’ve learnt certain things, maybe if we speak after a few years, I’ll have a more detailed answer.”
When asked about an emotion that you’re afraid to encounter while acting, Sidharth recalls performing the death scene of Capt. Vikram Batra in Shershaah.
“There’s no reference to a death scene, it’s so up to your imagination… The scenes where a film is based on a character who sacrificed his life (Shershaah) are extremely challenging because it’s purely your imagination, you don’t want to overdo it. I find those days extremely taxing, and the days leading up to it, I’m consumed with it and I look for ideas or help from my director, or just the pure concept of prepping in that mood and then seeing what happens in the day.”
Rashmika Mandanna opens up on not having a big enough role in the Thalapathy Vijay film Varisu. She says, “As an actor, I want to be okay with doing everything. It’s not only the meaty roles that I want to do or a female oriented film that I want to do. I want to be a part of commercial entertainers where I’m just in those two songs or four scenes, I’m okay with it. I don’t want to be typecast, I’m okay with doing any sort of films there is out there. That was one of the reasons I did the film.”
Amidst the audience cheering away, Rashmika gives inside information about Pushpa 2: The Rule. The actor shares, “The boys have started shoot, and I’ll be joining the shoot next month, so I’m really excited! And, the things that I’m hearing from the second half is (makes explosion sound). Really mind blown about how (director) Sukumar sir is coming up with these things, because if you watch the first half, you just feel like that is the story itself. But the  second part is something much more than the first part and you’re like “wow, now that’s something fabulous!” At the same time, I think all of us actors from Pushpa 1 have seen our work in the first half, and now we’re much more clearer on what kind of a world we’re living in. So I think all our performances are going to change. I think the performances are going to get more intense in the second half. And yeah guys, it’s going to be amazing!”

“I feel like I have been reborn since turning producer” – says AR Rahman

With 99 Songs, music maestro AR Rahman will be seen turning producer and writer for the first time. The trailer which was recently launched has created tremendous curiosity among fans and cinegoers about the upcoming musical drama. At the recently held event of the movie, when quizzed about the same, a delighted Rahman said, “I feel like I have been reborn since the time I have decided to turn producer. It’s an entirely new feeling”.

  

Speaking further on the challenges of making a film he says, “It's like being born again as a new man. When I started as a film music composer, I already had ten years of experience. But as a producer, it felt so new and seemed like I was starting all over again and I wanted to leave no stone unturned in giving it my best. Also, since I was working with other debutants – the director and the actor - I was reminded that I have a completely new team and we had a modest budget. I didn’t want to spare any effort in presenting it well and try to make our own epic (smiles) ”.

  

When asked if he was a regular on sets during the shoot, he said, “I knew that if some important scenes needed to be expanded, I ensured I would be present on set. Our executive producer would tell me that we have time constraints and will have to wrap the scene in a day while I was keen on four because those are the scenes that need love and complete justice. It's an art to balance between creative and commercial. However, if you get too creative then you may have to sell your property”, he laughingly added.

  

It is a first attempt and I hope we have done our best. My wife and daughters have been a great support”, he signed off. 

The movie is directed by debutant director Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy and will release in three languages, including Hindi, Tamil & Telugu. 99 Songs will also introduce to Bollywood a fresh new face, Ehan Bhat.

Akshay Kumar की पहली फिल्म 'सौगंध' से 'केसरी' तक Raju Singh

जिस तरह फिल्मो के संगीतकार की अहमियत होती है उसी तरह उन फिल्मो का बैकग्राउंड म्यूजिक देने वाले की भी अपनी महत्ता होती है. राजू सिंह (Raju Singh) की पहचान बैकग्राउंड म्यूजिक के उस्ताद के रूप में होती है. बॉलीवुड की अनेक फिल्मों में वह बैकग्राउंड म्यूजिक देकर अपनी प्रतिभा का लोहा मनवा चुके हैं। हाल ही में अक्षय कुमार (Akshay Kumar) की फिल्म 'केसरी' (Kesari)  के बैकग्राउंड म्यूजिक की वजह से चर्चित राजू सिंह संगीत निर्देशक के रूप में भी कई फिल्मो में हिट गाने कम्पोज कर चुके हैं।

राजू सिंह (Raju Singh) लगभग तीन दशकों से लगातार संगीत के क्षेत्र में काम कर रहे हैं. कभी उन्होंने किसी और म्यूजिक डायरेक्टर के गिटारिस्ट बनकर तो कभी ड्रमर बनकर अपनी सेवायें दी हैं. संगीत का शौक बचपन से रखने वाले राजू ने 1983 में वारिस (Waris) फिल्म में लता मंगेशकर (Lata Mangeshkar) के एक गाने में गिटार बजाया था। उत्तम सिंह ने पहली बार उन्हें चांस दिया था। बाद में अमर हल्दीपुर (Amar Haldipur) के साथ काम किया और फिर आर डी बर्मन (R D Burman) कैंप में शामिल होकर संगीत की बारिकियाँ सीखीं। ''म्यूजिशियन के रूप में मैंने कई संगीतकारों के साथ काम किया हुआ है. पंचम दा आरडी बर्मन के साथ गिटारिस्ट के रूप में काम किया था. फिर आनंद मिलिंद (Anand-Milind), नदीम श्रवण (Nadeem-Shravan), वीजू शाह (Viju Shah), अनु मलिक (Anu Malik) के साथ म्यूजिशियन के तौर पर काम किया. इसी दौरान सीरियल "बनेगी अपनी बात" के लिए बैकग्राउंड म्यूजिक देने का ऑफर मिला. फिर मुझे विनोद खन्ना (Vindo Khanna) स्टारर फिल्म कारनामा के लिए बैक ग्राउंड स्कोर करने का पहली बार मौका मिला. इसके बाद मैंने पीछे मुड़कर नहीं देखा. मुझे भी लगा कि किसी और म्यूजिक डायरेक्टर के लिए सिर्फ गिटार बजाने से बेहतर है कि अपनी एक अलग पहचान बनाई जाए. और इस तरह बैकग्राउंड म्यूजिक देने में बेहद व्यस्त हो गया. अक्षय कुमार की पहली फिल्म 'सौगंध' का बैकग्राउंड म्यूजिक मैंने दिया था.

सैनिक, मिस्टर बांड, सबसे बड़ा खिलाडी, खिलाडियों का खिलाडी जैसी अक्षय कुमार की कई फिल्मो का बैक ग्राउंड म्यूजिक मैंने दिया. उसके बाद अक्षय के साथ मुझे 'केसरी' जैसी बड़ी फिल्म करने का मौका मिला. १९९६ में रिलीज़ हुई खिलाडियों का खिलाडी के 23 साल बाद अक्षय के साथ केसरी फिल्म में काम किया.''

अक्षय कुमार की फिल्म 'केसरी' से जुड़ने के सन्दर्भ में राजू सिंह कहते हैं ''अधिकतर फिल्मे बैक ग्राउंड म्यूजिक के लिए हमारे पास शूटिंग और एडिटिंग के बाद आती हैं. लेकिन केसरी की शूटिंग से पहले मैं इस मुवि से जुड़ गया था. मैंने इसके कुछ सीन के लिए बैक ग्राउंड म्यूजिक उस सीन की शूटिंग से पहले ही कम्पोज़ कर लिया था. आज फिल्म की सफलता से ख़ुशी हो रही है. फिल्म ने सौ करोड़ से अधिक का कारोबार कर लिया है, हमारे लिए यह गर्व की बात है.''

फिल्मो में बैक ग्राउंड संगीत के बदलते परिदृश्य के बारे में राजू सिंह की राय बड़ी अहम है ''अगर आप देखें तो पहले की फिल्मो के बैक ग्राउंड म्यूजिक बहुत पोपुलर होते थे, उसकी एक वजह यह थी कि जो संगीतकार फिल्म के गाने क्रिएट करता था वही उसका बैक ग्राउंड संगीत भी देता था. 

संगीतकार को पता रहता है कि वह फिल्म के गाने या इसकी धुनों को कहाँ किस सिचुएशन में इस्तेमाल कर सकता है. मैं भी बैक ग्राउंड म्यूजिक देते समय इस बात का ध्यान रखता हूँ कि दर्शकों को ये न पता चले कि इसका म्यूजिक किसी और ने कम्पोज किया है जबकि इसका बैक ग्राउंड म्यूजिक अलग है क्योंकि मैं कहीं कहीं गाने की धुनों को भी इस्तेमाल करता हूँ.''

फिल्म के गानों के कम्पोजर के रूप में भी राजू सिंह ने काम किया है लेकिन इतना कम क्यों? वह इसकी वजह बताते हुए कहते हैं ''जी हाँ, मैंने बहुत कम गाने कम्पोज़ किये हैं. बतौर संगीतकार मेरी पिछली फिल्म 'राज़ २' थी जिसका गाना 'सोनियो' बेहद लोकप्रिय हुआ था.बैक ग्राउंड संगीत के लिए मैं इतना समय दे देता हूँ कि मुझे कम्पोजर के रूप में काम करने का वक्त ही नहीं मिलता लेकिन बैक ग्राउंड कम्पोजर के रूप में मैं अपने काम को एन्जॉय कर रहा हूँ और निर्माता निर्देशक को मेरी इस क्वालिटी पर बड़ा भरोसा है.''

राजू सिंह १४० फिल्मे अब तक बतौर बैक ग्राउंड संगीतकार के रूप में कर चुके हैं जबकि १२-१३ फिल्मे म्यूजिक डायरेक्टर के रुप में कर चुके हैं. उनके आने वाले प्रोजेक्ट्स हैं सनी देओल की फिल्म 'पल पल दिल के पास', महेश भट्ट की ' सड़क २' और मोहित सूरी की 'मलंग'.

टीवी सीरियल प्यार के दो नाम एक राधा एक श्याम में श्यामा, राधा और राधिका के तीन किरदारों से टेलीविज़न डेब्यू करने वाली बरखा बिष्ट को हिंदी फिल्म राजनीती में पहली बार एक आइटम डांस इश्क बरसे करने का मौक़ा मिला । वह कुछ बांगला फिल्मों के अलावा गोलियों की रास लीला राम-लीला में केसर की भूमिका में अपनी पहचान बना पाने में कामयाब हुई । लेकिन, उन्हें किसी हिंदी फिल्म में नायिका की भूमिका करने का मौका नहीं मिला । अब लोकप्रिय टेलीविजन और बांगला फिल्मों की अभिनेत्री बरखा बिष्ट सेनगुप्ता जल्द ही स्टार भारत के शो काल भैरव रहस्य २ में भैरवी की भूमिका में दिखेंगी।

काल भैरव रहस्य 2 में अपने किरदार के बारे में कुछ बताइए?

मैं भैरवी का किरदार निभा रही हूँ जो एक रहस्यमय चरित्र है। शो में मेरी एंट्री से वीर, भैरवी और अर्चना के बीच एक प्रेम त्रिकोण बनेगा। मैं पहली बार निगेटिव किरदार निभा रही हूँ और मैं इसको लेकर बेहद उत्साहित हूँ। मैं पहली बार नकारात्मक किरदार निभाने के तरीके को लेकर उत्सुक हूँ।

आपने नकारात्मक किरदार निभाना क्यों चुना ?

मैंने पहले कभी निगेटिव रोल नहीं निभाया है, भैरवी की भूमिका में पहली बार ऐसा करने जा रही हूँ। मैं हमेशा इस तरह का किरदार निभाना चाहती थी और यह मेरे लिए पहला मौका है। काल भैरव रहस्य अपने दूसरे सीजन के साथ वापस आ गया है। इस शो का हिस्सा होना मेरी खुशकिस्मती है। किरदार की रोचकता की वजह से मैंने इसको करना चुना।

नाइट शिफ्ट में शूटिंग करना कितना आसान या मुश्किल रहा?

मैं लंबे समय से इंडस्ट्री में हूँ और रात की शिफ्ट अब मेरे लिए कोई चुनौती नहीं है। हालाँकि हमारे नेचुरल साइकल की वजह से दिन की शिफ्ट की तुलना में रात में शूटिंग करना कई मायनों में थकाने वाला और मुश्किल काम है लेकिन अब मैं इसकी आदी हो चुकी हूँ। वास्तव में दिन की शिफ्ट की तुलना में रात की शिफ्ट ज्यादा मजेदार होती है।

आपने कई बंगाली फिल्में की हैं, बॉलीवुड को लेकर आपका क्या प्लान है?

बॉलीवुड फिल्मों का हिस्सा बनना मेरा सपना रहा है। हाल ही मुझे राम लीला में भाग लेने का अवसर मिला जो मेरे लिए एक नया और ताजगी भरा अनुभव था। आने वाले दिनों में मुझे बॉलीवुड की और फिल्मों का हिस्सा बनना अच्छा लगेगा।

आपने बीच में शो को ज्वाइन किया है , सेट पर पहला दिन कैसा रहा?

सेट पर मेरा पहला दिन बहुत मजेदार रहा। काल भैरव रहस्य 2 का हिस्सा बनकर और अपने किरदार को लेकर मैं पहले ही बहुत खुश थी। मैं अपना शूट शुरू होने का इंतजार कर रही थी। मेरे कॉ-स्टार्स और क्रू बहुत जिंदादिल हैं जिसने मेरी शुरुआती शूटिंग को खुशनुमा बना दिया।

अपने कॉ-स्टार्स के साथ आपका रैपर्ट कैसा है ?

हम सभी एक दूसरे के साथ मजेदार और दोस्ती भरा संबंध साझा करते हैं। हालाँकि शो में मेरी एंट्री नई है लेकिन मुझे लगता है जैसे मैं कितने समय से इन लोगों को जानती हूँ। मैं गौतम और अदिति को पहले से ही अच्छी तरह से जानती हूँ, इसलिए यह गर्मजोशी से भरपूर अनुभव रहा।

शो के काँसेप्ट को लेकर आप क्या सोचती हैं ?

शो का काँसेप्ट बहुत अनूठा है और टेलीविजन पर नया है। मैं हमेशा से शाप के काँसेप्ट को लेकर उत्साहित रही हूँ और इस विधा में काम करना चाहती थी।

आपका फिटनेस मंत्र क्या है?

फिटनेस एक स्टेट ऑफ माइंड है जो हर इंसान के लिए अलग-अलग होती है। मेरा मानना है कि फिट रहना, अच्छा दिखना और खुद पर काम करना बहुत जरूरी है। मैं फिटनेस फ्रिक हूँ और हर रोज जिम किए बिना नहीं रह सकती। एक्सरसाइज मेरी नियमित रूटीन का हिस्सा है।

भविष्य की आपकी क्या योजनाएँ हैं?

मैं इस समय काल भैरव रहस्य 2 पर फोसस्ड हूँ और भैरवी के चरित्र को परफेक्सन के साथ निभाना मेरा प्लान है। यही वह चीज है जो मैं हमेशा से करना चाहती थी।

My biggest takeover till now is Jammin, where being on stage and sharing it with legendary musicians is a blessing!” says digital star Jeffrey Iqbal on sharing the same platform as Bollywood music composers. 

Why did you choose to share your music on a Digital platform instead of going mainstream- which most of the people choose? 

Music is been a part of my life since childhood, thanks to my family. Back in USA I didn’t have access to the right people. So digital medium suited my situation more. Moreover, it became very convenient and I started getting responses almost immediately. This was a big motivation for me and I then started creating more meaningful music. It was easy to sit back at home with my friends, put it together and just upload it. That is why I chose this platform. 

Could you tell us a little about your journey? 

As a kid, I started learning Indian classical music with my siblings. My mother wanted to live her dream of becoming a singer through us. My sister was singing a song, and I was listening to her from my bedroom. I was six then. And then I went to her and told her that you are singing it wrong. And my seven-year elder sister shockingly asked me what I was saying. So, I walked up to the harmonium for the first time and started playing the notes. And my mom came from the other room and was shocked to see that I was playing it right. I did not like to learn music initially, but then it became my hobby and slowly my passion. And then my Dad coaxed me to go on the stage. So I feel that parents should encourage their children to learn and explore especially when you are really young.

What was your first thought when you were first approached by the idea of Jammin? 

Well for any musician jamming is something that rejuvenates them. So, when I was approached for Jammin, and was briefed about the concept, I was like…Yes, I want to do it! I just asked one question which was when you need me. And she was like we need you here in three days.  So, I booked the next flight to Mumbai and two days after that I was on the set.

What’s it like working with the celebrated musicians from the world of Bollywood like Shankar- Ehsaan - Loy? 

It is a bit intimidating. They are the guys who have made music for the world and made music that has served people forever. They are legends with a lot of experience. I am not even in their league. It was my pleasure to share stage with Shankar sir, Ehsaan sir & Loy sir. They are super humble. It's quite comforting and inspirational. It was an educational experience for me. I learnt a lot from them, tonality, on execution, style, when to do and when not to do, when not to sing, all the little things that I could grab from them. These people have been in the industry for the last twenty years, and it’s a blessing to work with them. 

Could you tell me about your experience of working on Jammin? 

I’ve been on reality shows before, then I had my own show in South America which I used to produce. But my biggest takeover till now is Jammin, where being on stage and sharing it with legendary musicians is a blessing. Being on stage with these amazing artists and not being judged by them was a win-win for me. It was more of a beautiful journey than the competition, and that is why it has been, one of my best experiences.

The show is now going to be broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television.  How does it feel to go from digital to mainstream? 

I’ve been on Tv before, but what is great about Jammin, from a business point of view, is you won’t get a lot of promotion on a digital platform but when you work with legends on such a big channel like Sony Entertainment Television, you are reaching a million of people. I think it was the best experience of working on Sony, reaching it out to masses and learning a lot of new stuff.

Ayushmann Khurrana wore special lens for blind look in AndhaDhun

After a hattrick this year with Padmaavat, 102 Not Out and Mulk, National Award-winning makeup and prosthetic designer Preetisheel Singh is once again on a high with the success of AndhaDhun. Here's an interesting tête-à-tête with the lady.

What was so special about AndhaDhun compared to the other films you have handled makeup and prosthetics for?

This movie did not require heavy prosthetics like many of the other movies that I have done, but giving Ayushmann (Khurrana) a blind look required a special kind of lens. The lenses were custom-made for the character to make it seem realistic. These are not the ordinary lenses that you get in the market, these are 'Scleral lenses' that cover the entire visible part of your eyes. The only downside to these are that they blur your vision, but Ayushmann was really co-operative and did an amazing job considering he actually couldn’t see much. 

Is it easier or more difficult to design characters where the character does not have a prototype; like caste, creed or historical relevance? 

I wouldn't say difficult, but it is more time consuming, as they don't have pre-set look-traits that I can use to build up a character. It’s the little background details like where they grew up, what is their religious background, what are their habits, what do they like or dislike -- small things like this help maneuver and create a character design. 

Did the fact that you have worked with Ayushmann Khurrana earlier make your job easier? 

Ayushmann is a fantastic actor to work with. The fact that I’ve worked with him in the past has helped build a rapport with him that makes the environment more comfortable to work in, for both him and me. He is a very positive and fun person to work with. There were a lot of constraints on him due to the lenses, but he still worked brilliantly with them and made it all seem so easy. 

Sriram Raghavan is considered to be quite a meticulous director. Was he very demanding with the looks? 

Working with Sriram Sir was like a dream come true, because I grew up watching his movies like Ek Hasina Thi and Johnny Gaddar. And working on a thriller was on my check list which is finally ticked off. He had a very clear vision in his head as to what he wanted and when I presented him with the designs, we both were on the same page. So that made both the discussion and the execution very smooth. 

How was it working on the other characters in the movie? 

It was really interesting creating the different characters because every character has a significance in the movie. Going through the script, I could slowly visualize what the characters would look like based on the role they had. And there was a lovely lineup of actors cast for the movie that fit the characters perfectly making my job a lot easier, as it’s easy to conceptualize something when you have a face in mind. And having worked with many of them on previous projects, it was a smooth sailing in terms of execution. 

Were you expecting such rave reviews for a movie with such an unusual storyline?

Guess the tradition created with Sriram Sir’s movies lives on. He always comes up with brilliant stuff and it shows on screen.

Runaway successes put more pressure on everyone. How do you deal with that? 

The pressure sometimes becomes very overwhelming when the expectation levels continue to shoot up. The best thing to do is keep creating with a steady and calm mind with regular de-stressing breaks.

Which was the most difficult character to work on for AndhaDhun? 

Ayushmann’s character was a little tricky, especially working with the lenses. I wanted to design something that would justify the character and give it a very realistic look, so that took a little time. And every character was important in their own aspect so due diligence was given to each character. 

How are you going to celebrate the success of AndhaDhun? Do you take breaks after each success? 

I would love to take a break, but sadly my work is not permitting of that. I am currently working on a couple of other projects and they're keeping me busy. Maybe a nice little dinner with my team to celebrate the success of AndhaDhun is something that I see happening soon.

फिल्म जगत के कुछ प्रसिद्ध नामों द्वारा बनाई गई अपरंपरागत कहानियों और विचारों ने क्षेत्रीय सिनेमा को नई ऊंचाइयों पर पंहुचा दिया है। लेकिन जगत की कुछ बड़ी कंपनियां अभी भी हिंदी फिल्मों को ही सुरक्षित निवेश मानती हैं और क्षेत्रीय फिल्मों में निवेश से बचती है। इस तरह के चौकस फिल्म निर्माताओं के विपरीत, शहनाब आलम का मानना है कि सिनेमा जगत की खुद की अपनी एक भाषा है जो भावनाओं और अभिव्यक्ति पूर्ण चित्रों के माध्यम से रुख करती है और क्षेत्रीय बोली जाने वाली भाषा कहानी की जड़ों का सिर्फ एक मार्कर है। 

उन्होंने कहा - "मेरे करियर की राह और इससे जुड़े विकल्पों ने मुझे हिंदी भाषा की फिल्मों में शामिल किया था। लेकिन अब, जब मैं अपने देश के विभिन्न कोनों से कहानियों को लाना चाहता हूँ, तो मुझे अन्य क्षेत्रीय भाषाओ के सिनेमा के बारे में भी जानना होगा| 

शहनाब, प्रियंका चोपड़ा की प्रोडक्शन कंपनी 'पर्पल पेब्बल पिक्चर्स' के साथ 'भोगा खिरिके' नाम की असमिया फिल्म का सह-निर्माण कर रहे हैं। कम यात्रा वाली सड़क लेने के पीछे का कारण बताते हुए शाहनब कहते हैं - "सबसे पहले मैं आपको बता दूं  की असमिया फिल्म का हिस्सा बनना मेरा सोचा-समझा निर्णय था क्योंकि मैं मूल रूप से असम से ही हूं बल्कि मैं कहूंगा, यह एक तरह की घर वापसी और अपनी जड़ें तलाशने का प्रयास है, "उन्होंने कहा," इसके अलावा, जाह्नु बरुआ (इस फिल्म के निर्देशक) हमेशा उन मास्टर फिल्म निर्माताओं में से एक रहे हैं जिनके साथ मैं हमेशा से काम करना चाहता हूं। बहुत कम जानते हैं कि जाह्नू को सिनेमा में उत्कृष्टता के लिए 'राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार' से सम्मानित किया गया है और उनकी फिल्मों ने आज तक  19 राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार प्राप्त किए हैं।" 

जब आलम ने जहानू की अगली फिल्म बनाने का फैसला लिया तो वह इस बात को बखूबी जानते थे कि यह निर्देशक पांच साल के अंतराल के बाद अब इस फिल्म बनाने जा रहे है। आलम कहते हैं, "इसलिए, यह मेरे लिए एक जिम्मेदारी की बात थी कि मैं अपने मास्टर फिल्म निर्माता के लिए उत्पादन की गुणवत्ता को एक नया मुकाम दूं | 

आलम, जिन्होंने लंचबॉक्स जैसे हिट फिल्में दी है, अब बरुआ के साथ काम करने से बेहद खुश हैं। "जाहनू बरुआ के साथ काम करना बहुत संतोषजनक और समृद्ध रहा है। इस मास्टर क्राफ्ट और उनकी कहानी को देखना पूरी तरह से खुशीपूर्ण था। अंत में उन्होंने कहा -मैं स्वीकार करता हूँ कि मैने इस फिल्म से पहले से कहीं ज्यादा सीखा है|
